What is recorded here
Ballycullen holds two faint circles, one perhaps a rath and the other an enclosure, visible only because soil and crop growth still answer the shape buried beneath them. The uncertainty is not a flaw; it is the land refusing to be reduced. A person may have stood between the circles, reading the difference in grass colour the way others read marks on a page. What is missing is not importance. The distinction between a dwelling, a boundary and a memory may be exactly what the place preserves.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as AP Cropmark- Possible rath/enclosure pair. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
