Enclosure in Ballycomy

Enclosure

What is recorded here

On a small bluff protruding to E from W side of Deen river valley, with a very steep slope down to the valley to E, in rolling grassland. There are very good views across and along the Deen river valley to N, E and S and fair view to the W. Indicated as a circular enclosure on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map but not on the 1947 revision suggesting it has been largely levelled by the latter date. Visible at ground level as a very slight, roughly circular platform (max. diam. 27m; H 0.3-0.5m). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 14 November 2018
