Ballyclider is an unlocated settlement cluster in County Laois, Ireland, recorded as the town and lands of Ballyclayder in a 1607 inquisition. Robert Pigott received the lands in 1577, suggesting a stable English possession nearly thirty years before the survey. The cluster may have contained farms, a meeting place or small trades, though no building or boundary has survived to mark them.
Unlocated settlement within townland, mentioned as the 'towne and lands of Ballyclayder' in an inquisition of the lands of Robert Pigott of the Disarte in Queen's Co. taken at Maryborough on the 7th September 1607, whow received these lands in the 19th year of the reign of Queen Elizabeth (1577).(O'Flanagan 1933, vol.1, p. 97)
