Death and distance have stripped the flesh from the bones, leaving only the rath and the hollow dark beneath it. The chamber may hold a drowned roof or a forgotten chamber, but the function has been lost. What remains is a wound in the mountain, waiting for a witness brave enough to stop pretending the world is reasonable.

Situated on the lower W slopes of Ballysitteragh mountain, bivallate rath KE043-081---- contains the remains of at least 2 hut-sites and a possible Man-made underground passage. (4) (KE043-081005-) The foundations of a circular hut have been noted at the SW corner of the central platform (Orpen 1910, 252-3), but the arc of facing now visible at this location appears to delimit the platform rather than a hut.
