Graveslab in Baile Chláir marks four seventeenth-century slabs at Claregalway friary whose inscriptions have worn until isolated letters barely remain. They stand as quiet witnesses to forgotten burial and changed ownership, perhaps still carrying the shape of names now lost.

Bradley and Dunne (1992, 62) noted ‘four slabs of seventeenth century date with inscriptions almost completely worn away and on which only isolated letters can now be determined’ at Claregalway friary (GA070-035001-).
