Situated in wet low-lying ground. A rectangular-shaped area (dims. c. 47.8m N-S, c. 32m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 3.4m; int. H c. 1.2m, ext. H c. 2.1m) and external fosse (Wth c. 4.5m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
