Inch Kenneth is associated with St. Kenneth, a 6th-century Scottish saint and one of the early rulers of the Pictish kingdom of Fortriu, later becoming a monk and founder of a monastery. The site may have been a place of pilgrimage and is linked to traditions of healing and spiritual renewal, common to many early Christian monastic sites in Scotland.
