Graveslab in Ardfert stands inside the chancel's south door, a tapering limestone slab bearing a faint Maltese cross from the 13th or 14th century. Its chamfered edges and low relief suggest quiet craft rather than grand display, preserving a nameless death beneath a living church. The slab still marks the boundary between the remembered and the forgotten, waiting for a hand to trace its shallow lines.
