What is recorded here
Ardcorky holds a stone circle in County Mayo, but human memory has not yet recorded how long the stones stood or why they gathered there. The absence of a story does not reduce the place; it refuses to be completed before being understood. The circle may have marked birth, death, seizure or rebirth. It may have belonged to no one and everyone at once. What is missing is not meaning but imagination, and imagination can be entered without fear.
