Cross-slab in Ardane

In the S sector of an ecclesiastical enclosure (TS074-010----) known as St. Berrihert's Kyle and incorporated in an oval stone enclosure, stepped internally, built by the OPW in 1946 (Ó hÉailidhe 1967, 102). This slab is located in the W sector, on top of the wall. It is described by Ó hÉailidhe (1967, 111) as slab 18A/18B, composed of grey sandstone (dims 0.47m x 0.21m; T 0.08m). 'There is a large boss on the top of the slab, 5.5cm in diameter and 2cm high. The edges of the stone are pocked smooth but not straight. A Latin cross in low relief with double-rounded hollows in the angles. Reverse of 18A. An irregular Latin cross in low relief with triple-rounded hollows in the angles' (ibid.).
