Cross in Ardane is a cross in Ardane, County Tipperary, Ireland. A rough rectangular stone base lies outside the north-west wall of a 1946 enclosure built to display local cross-slabs. The base measures 0.53 metres by 0.34 metres and rises 0.15 metres, holding an open rectangular socket that is 0.13 metres by 0.05 metres. Its broken edge has lost the side that once closed the socket.
On a gentle N-facing slope in a small wooded area surrounded by marsh and rough meadow, in the Glen of Aherlow at the foot of the Galty mountains. At 'St Berrihert's Kyle' where there is an island in the marsh which formed the ecclesiastical enclosure (TS074-010----) for the 7th-century saint. On this island there a stone-walled enclosure built by the OPW in 1946 for the purpose of securing and displaying cross-slabs which were found at the location (Ó hÉailidhe 1967, 102). Immediately outside this enclosure on the NW side, lying loose at the base of the steps to the style there is a cross-base consisting of a roughly rectangular block (dims. 0.53m x 0.34m; H 0.15m) with rectangular socket (dims. 0.13m x 0.05m). The edge of the stone with the socket appears to have been broken along its length, leaving the socket open.
