What is recorded here

Situated in a small pot-lake (diam. c. 100m) on the boundary with Co. Fermanagh which lies to the E. A circular feature (diam. c. 20m) is depicted on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map. The lake is now an overgrown bog, but no archaeological feature can be detected. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
