Red Castle in Angus is a medieval field system where rigid furrows still cut the earth like forgotten writing. The name suggests a lost structure, yet the ground preserves only the shape of repeated labour and seasonal choice. Perhaps a castle stood nearby, casting its shadow across ordinary farms until the stones departed and the fields kept the memory instead.
