St Vigeans

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records St Vigeans as Cross Slab (pictish), Pictish Symbol Stone (pictish). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Dated to the Pictish period (circa 4th to 9th century AD), the St Vigeans Cross Slab is carved with early Christian and Pictish symbols, suggesting a religious or commemorative function. It may have marked a significant site, such as a burial ground or place of worship, and reflects the cultural and spiritual practices of early medieval Scotland.
