Monifieth

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Monifieth as Cross Slab (pictish), Pictish Symbol Stone (pictish). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Dated to the Pictish period (circa 4th–9th century AD), the Monifieth Cross Slab is likely associated with early Christian symbolism and may have functioned as a memorial or waymarker. Pictish symbol stones often combined Christian and native iconography, reflecting the cultural and religious transitions of the time.
