What is recorded here

Thornton is a possible medieval castle in Angus, Scotland. Its exact boundary remains unclear, but the land may still hold the shape of a lost defensible house. Whatever vanished there, it vanished into ordinary soil, waiting for a person curious enough to look beside the familiar path.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Thornton as Castle (medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
