What is recorded here

Fortification in Agharainy, County Fermanagh, dates to the post-medieval or seventeenth century, when borderland violence made defensive works common. The exact structure has faded, but the classification suggests a deliberate attempt to control access, resist raiding, or assert local authority. Whatever it was, it answered a real danger in a region where openness could cost a life.
