What is recorded here

Lisroe is a circular rath on a Galway ridge, its bank and fosse still drawing a clear line across rolling pasture. People may have lived inside that line, watched weather come through the valley, and left the earth compacted by ordinary footsteps. The fairies belong to the local story, not the visible shape. The shape is a human boundary made continuous by time.

Lisroe, Aggard Beg is a well-preserved early-medieval ringfort, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries, situated on a ridge in rolling pastureland. It is associated with local folklore referring to "fairy forts," reflecting the belief that such sites were inhabited by supernatural beings.
