A narrow passage to the castle winds through a dark corridor of trees. Tolquhon Castle stands beside it as a ruined red tower, its walls broken and roofless under the open sky. The castle belongs to another age, but it still gives the place shape. People come from far away to stand in that passage and look up at what remains.
