North Lodge

Castle

What is recorded here

North Lodge is a granite gate lodge built in 1854 by William Ramage for the Keithhall estate, not a distant castle or forgotten ruin. Its squared stones, crowstepped gables and decorative iron gates still mark the entrance, while the house remains occupied and remembered. The last of three lodges on the estate, it is small enough to walk through in a minute yet proud enough to stop a car and hold the road’s attention.
North Lodge is shown as a castle on the public map of Aberdeenshire. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.

This does not grant access. Check current paths, opening conditions and ownership before entering.
