St Ternan's Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records St Ternan's Well as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Ternan's Well is associated with St Ternan, a 7th-century Irish monk and missionary linked to the foundation of early Christian monasteries in Scotland, particularly in the Tayside region. The well was traditionally visited for its healing properties, especially for ailments of the eyes and skin, and was likely a site of pilgrimage and seasonal rituals.
