Drum Castle Policies, Old Wood preserves medieval rig and furrow marks still visible beneath the trees. The land belonged to Drum Castle, where people farmed, lived and left behind the shape of repeated labour. The policies may have served the castle kitchen, the local household or both, but the furrows prove the ground was worked hard for generations.
