Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Hms Hawke as Cruiser (period Unassigned)-(1914). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
HMS *Hawke* was a British light cruiser launched in 1896 and lost on 15 October 1914, when it struck a mine off the coast of Scotland. The ship sank quickly with the loss of 747 of its 760 crew; only 13 survived. The wreck is significant as one of the earliest Royal Navy losses of World War I and remains a prominent example of early 20th-century naval architecture.
