Abergeldie Castle is a mid-16th century Gordon tower house in Aberdeenshire, built of pink harled granite rubble and later leased to the Royal Family. Its stair tower rises beside a small pit where local legend claims Katy Rankin waited chained before hanging, while a long low wing and ornamental additions disappeared in 1969 to reveal the older castle. The surviving building is less a complete palace than a sharpened fragment: tall, rounded, crow-stepped, and still marked by the rooms, larder, cottages and landscape that surrounded it.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Abergeldie Castle as Country House (18th Century), Tower House (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Abergeldie Castle was originally a medieval tower house, later replaced by an 18th-century country house. It is remembered for its historical evolution and as a recorded site in Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment.
