Castlehill Farm in Aberdeenshire holds short Bronze Age cists, yet the people working the land in 1964 did not know they were there. W.D. Simpson wrote about them in 1936, suggesting the stones had already slipped beneath everyday sight. The farm may have trod across dead chambers for generations, turning ancient burial into ordinary ground under boot and plow.
