What is recorded here

House of Glenmuick occupies the abandoned castle site of Braichlie in Aberdeenshire, where Daniel Gibson built a residence for Sir James Mackenzie in 1898. The structure displays Tudor details through red sandstone dressings and granite walls, while Thomas Hayton Mawson shaped the adjacent walled garden into one continuous landscape. It remains a lived-in house rather than a museum, preserving the identity of the demolished Glenmuick House through its current name.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records House of Glenmuick as Castle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
