Drumdollo Castle stood in Aberdeenshire from 1508 until demolition around 1840, leaving no visible walls but a faint rectangular shadow in the soil. That missing shape suggests a building proud enough to mark the land yet forgotten fast enough to vanish without a name in common memory.
