Idoch Castle stood in Aberdeenshire during the medieval period, supposedly built in the 14th century before its last foundation stones were torn out in 1850 to make room for a farm. The castle disappeared so completely that even its memory became a rumour, yet human remains nearby suggest people lived, worked or died within its shadow. What was lost was not empty land but a household, a boundary and a small world reduced to soil beneath ordinary fields.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Idoch Castle as Castle (medieval), Human Remains (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Idoch Castle was a medieval stronghold, likely built in the late 14th or early 15th century, and is associated with the Keith family, a prominent Scottish noble lineage. It is remembered for its strategic location and the historical significance of the Keiths in the governance of Scotland.
