Castle Forbes is a gothic revival house in Newtownforbes, County Longford, Ireland, where the Forbes family has lived since Captain Arthur Forbes received 1,266 acres in 1623. The castle survived the Irish Rebellion of 1641, fires in 1825 and the early 1900s, and repeated remodels by John Hargrave, James Joseph McCarthy, and William Foster. It still stands as the seat of the Earl of Granard, holding a small airport, old-growth forest, and rooms shaped by four centuries of rebuilding.
