The Battle of Alford was fought in 1215 between the forces of King Alexander II of Scotland and the Comyn faction loyal to the English crown. The Scottish victory helped secure Alexander II's claim to the northern Scottish earldoms and marked a significant step in the consolidation of Scottish royal authority in the north.
