The Battle of the Brig of Dee was fought in 1174 between forces loyal to King William the Lion of Scotland and Anglo-Norman troops under King Henry II of England. The Scottish defeat led to William's capture and the subsequent Treaty of Falaise, which significantly expanded English influence over Scottish affairs.
