Ash Hill and Abbeyfarm may share one forgotten dolmen, its stones swallowed by soil or misread by surveyors. The boundary between townlands cut across the site, splitting a single chamber into two records. Men placed those stones before writing existed, building a room for the dead or a marker for the living. Neither name nor function has survived the forgetting.

The precise location of a possible megalithic structure within the townland of Abbeyfarm has not been identified. Possible site annotated on OSi 6-inch map as "Dolmen Remains" in the townland of Abbeyfarm (SMR file). May be a duplicate site with LI047-022021- which is the 'Cromlech' in the adjoining townland of Ash Hill. Compiled by: Martin Fitzpatrick Date of upload: 19 August 2021
