This blue commemorative plaque records: Site of Manor of Wyche and birthplace of St Richard de Wyche C 1197 The Raven Hotel was originally an Elizabethan House, restoration and enlargement was carried out by the Salt King John Corbett in 1897 Recorded plaque organisation: Droitwich Spa Civic Society, Wychavon District Council.
St Richard de Wyche, born around 1197 at the Manor of Wyche, became the Bishop of Chichester and is revered as a saint for his piety and miracles; John Corbett, known as the Salt King, restored and enlarged the Raven Hotel in 1897, transforming an Elizabethan house into a prominent local landmark.
