RATH (traces of) & Man-made underground passage: DUNGRAM FORT in Magherasaul

RATH (traces of) & Man-made underground passage: DUNGRAM FORT

What is recorded here

Dungrem Fort in Magherasaul hides a man-made passage beneath a ruined rath, waiting for boots loud enough to trigger its doors. The fort predates Christian writing, which means human hands built it while history still learned its own name. That much is certain. What the passage records, who it excludes and whether it is dead or patient remain unknown.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH (traces of) & Man-made underground passage: DUNGRAM FORT. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
