What is recorded here

Melted ice and human hands may have shaped the same ring, yet neither identity has survived to be named. The uncertainty is not a gap, it is the shape of what is left: a circular trace in County Down, large enough to exclude chance and ambiguous enough to refuse a date. What is certain is that the ring exists, cuts through soil memory, and still distinguishes itself from the ordinary ground around it.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH, reused as TREE RING. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
