RATH & possible Man-made underground passage in Tannyoky

RATH & possible Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Mortars and rails in the Tannyoky hills, a round castle and a hidden tunnel in the earth. The official record calls it a rath and possible man-made passage, protected since the early Christian period. A ruler may have lived above while people walked below, or a family may have cut the tunnel when armies passed. The hill still keeps that much of the truth.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH & possible Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
