Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, Iowa, became the nation's largest meatpacker by 1941, surviving wars and depressions with profits in most years. The 1948 strike turned violent, killing a worker, injuring a woman, overturning 27 cars, and forcing National Guard troops into the streets. Employee ownership in 1980 came too late; losses continued until closure in 1985.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH - one of a pair with 032:002. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
