What is recorded here

Knockaholet holds a rath, a motte and bailey, and two urn burials, linking prehistoric, early Christian, and medieval life in one scheduled site. The urns suggest people still buried their dead near the older earthworks long after they first rose. Perhaps the hill stayed sacred because the dead kept returning to it, turning a military or domestic place into a continuous chamber for memory.
