RATH: KILLYBERRY FORT in Killyberry Boyd

RATH: KILLYBERRY FORT

What is recorded here

Killyberry Fort stands in County Derry as a rath from the early Christian period, marking the area where people lived, defended themselves or gathered long before modern borders drew their lines. The earthworks may have surrounded a home, a shrine or a small community, yet no surviving name explains whose hands shaped the bank or whose children ran inside it. What remains is a quiet invitation to imagine the lost lives that gave the place its form.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH: KILLYBERRY FORT. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
