RATH in Lurgan West

RATH

What is recorded here

Lurgan West still carries the name of the rath that shaped the edge of the living land. The old border may have moved a rod, a breath or a lifetime, but the name kept the shape of the place. That much is known. The rest belongs to the field, the rain and the people who first learned its boundaries.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
