What is recorded here

Knockoneill still holds the buried line of a Rath, an early Christian fortification preserved beneath County Derry soil. That much is clear. The rest belongs to imagination: a small community may have lived there, defended a valley road, or gathered where faith and fear both ran deep. The ground keeps its shape while memory thins.
