Mortons Field, Ballyronan, County Derry. E.CHRIST.. Rath means a fortified place, often a ringfort or earthwork. People built raths to keep livestock, family and belief inside one defensible line. The land may still hide that shape beneath grass, farm traffic or forgotten boundary stones.
