No visible trace remains in Finnard, yet the name still points to a bounded local area rather than an abandoned claim. A Rath marks enclosure, defense or ownership, so the land may have carried a fence, bank or forbidden edge now erased by weather and farming. The lost boundary may have shaped life there for generations before disappearing from memory.
