Drumawillin holds a rath, an ancient earthwork whose boundary still marks the landscape despite the absence of a visible ruin. The name survives in official records while the shape fades from memory, inviting imagination rather than certainty. A rath is a place of enclosure, perhaps residential, perhaps defensive, and its continuation into modern mapping suggests the land still recognises the form even when people no longer do.
