RATH in Cornahawla, County Fermanagh, is an early Christian rath: a fortified place where people lived, worshipped or defended themselves before modern borders existed. The name survives even when the shape has blurred under grass, roadworks or forgetting. A rath is not a decorative ruin; it is a boundary drawn by human hands, marking the point where ordinary land became a place with identity.
