RATH in Carrydoo

Carrydoo in County Derry holds a rath, an ancient earthwork whose boundary still marks the land. The official record preserves it as a scheduled site, acknowledging that human hands shaped the ground long before modern roads cut past it. Perhaps families lived inside its ridge, watched storms arrive from the sea, and buried their dead beside the grass. The rath remains because it resisted forgetting.
