What is recorded here

Ballynaleck still holds the buried line of a Rath, marking the area where human hands shaped the earth long before modern roads cut across it. The name preserves a forgotten shape, perhaps a fence, a bank or a small fortified place, while the ground above forgets the work done beneath it.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
