What is recorded here

Ballynagappoge still holds a Rath, an ancient earthwork in County Down. The name itself records that people built a defended place there before written history. Its exact age remains unrecorded, but the shape of a Rath is clear: a boundary made strong enough to keep out danger and hold a life together.
