What is recorded here

Ardgart holds a rath, an ancient earthwork whose boundary still marks the land. The official record preserves the name and point but gives no date, leaving the chamber open to imagination. Perhaps people lived there before written history, raising a defensible space against rain and invasion. The absence of a date does not diminish the rath; it refuses to be reduced into a narrow factual cage.
