RATH (CHART) in Ballykennedy

RATH (CHART)

What is recorded here

Mortars and balls flew across the water in 1798, but no ship ever touched Ballykennedy. The bay itself became the weapon, closing the gap between American sail and Irish shore. Distance disappeared under fire. What remained was a small coast that entered a worldwide war without leaving its own ground.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH (CHART). Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
